Scott Bradley Memorial Award

The Lake Park Lancer Wrestling Program is proud to have our wrestlers eligible for the Scott Bradley Memorial Award. In 1987, a Memorial Scholarship Award was established in Scott Bradley's name by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Bradley. Criteria for the award are based on the qualities which Scott displayed as a Lake park student athlete.

Scott began his wrestling career as a member of the Lancer Kids Club. As he matured into a young gentleman, he displayed sportsmanship to his opponents, loyalty to his team mates, coaches and his school, and dedication to the Lake Park wrestling program.

He strived for excellence in the classroom and on the wrestling mat. Unfortunately, his wrestling career was cut short when he was diagnosed with leukemia during November of his Junior year. Scott battled his illness as hard as he battled his wrestling opponents, but succumbed to leukemia on May 5, 1986.

Lake Park and the community suffered a loss with Scott's passing. He will always be remembered by his friends, teachers, teammates, and his coaches.

The Scott Bradley Memorial Award is not provided every season, but only when a current student athlete exhibits the characteristics earlier exhibited by Scott.

The Lake Park Wrestling Program appreciates the generosity of the Bradley family and is proud to present the Scott Bradley Memorial Award to both honor Scott's memory and legacy by keeping it alive with a current member of our wrestling program.
