Lake Park Wrestling NewsAwards Night a Big Success The 2011-2012 wrestling season has been officially closed with the annual Awards Night presentations and fun. Last night
Tony Dieppa led off by describing each of his freshmen wrestlers and managers and recapping a great season the team enjoyed. Nico Mirandola was named Most Outstanding Freshmen Wrestler. Antonio Shenault was named Most Improved Freshmen Wrestler. Devin Brady and Tyler Vittal both received the Dan Gable Commitment Award for missing no practices.
Anthony Miserendino then followed providing a brief capsule of the achievements of each of his JV wrestlers and managers. The JV team was led by Captain Henry Stoever who also was named the Most Outstanding JV Wrestler and Bogdan Gulyk was named Most Improved JV Wrestler. Varsity Coach Pete Willis then provided input on many of the underclassmen that fill the Varsity team ranks. Todd Raymond then described the turbulent season and provided insight into each of our senior wrestlers Joe Arzuaga, Zach Raucci, Blake Santi, Farai Sewera, Eric Thomason, Giancarlo Torres, and Jon Verlotta, plus junior Austin Schoen.
Coach Raymond announced the award winners which included Lucas Bracher as the Most Improved Varsity Wrestler, Farai Sewera as the Most Valuable Wrestler, Austin Schoen as the Iron Man Award winner and Farai Sewera as the Bradley Scholarship winner. Team Captains this season were Blake Santi, Farai Sewera, and Austin Schoen.
Mr. and Mrs. Hannigan presented their annual video slide show and the evening was culminated with a great food fest in the cafeteria.
