The Lancer Wrestling Mat Room

The wrestling room is located upstairs on the west side balcony of the Lake Park High School East Campus gymnasium. The mat room is approximately 45' x 140' and the floor is configured with wall-to-wall Resilite mats except for two perimeter walking areas. The interior walls are padded with mats up to five feet in height providing protection for the wrestlers.

The room is equipped with ADAM “The Wrestling Takedown Machine”. Standing just off the ground, the ADAM wrestling dummy is made to look and act like a grappler in a squared stance. It is designed with flexible and sprawling limbs, allowing our Lake Park wrestlers to refine their technique outside of regular practice and without a partner. While nothing can completely imitate actual competition, the resistance offered by the ADAM dummy is perfect for developing movements in setups, penetrations, and takedowns.

Ample natural light is provided by a 20 large windows located above the padding on the west wall.

A stereo system is in place to allow cassette tapes and compact disks to motivate the Lancer wrestling team during workouts.
